On Wednesday, November 15, registration check in will be from 11:30 AM -12:00 PM for the Donna Sterling New Coordinator Academy and Preview Workshops. Lunch will be held from 12:00 – 1:00 PM for members registered for either of these sessions. The New Coordinator Academy will take place following lunch until 4:00 PM. During this same time period, we will offer three Donna Sterling Institute Preview Workshops. Members will be able to attend all three workshops in order to gain an insight as to what the spring meeting will offer. Members will attend the following sessions which were chosen based on survey feedback: Integrating Engineering in the Science Classroom, Teaching Nonfiction Reading in the Science Classroom and Creating Opportunities for Student Discourse in Science. The Academy and the workshops are being offered at no additional cost to members.
Our fall meeting will begin Wednesday evening. Registration check in is from 5:00 – 6:00 PM. There will be a reception from 5:00 -7:00 PM in order to connect with professional colleagues. Dinner and a STEM Panel Discussion will follow from 7:00 - 9:00 PM.
On Thursday, our meeting will open with breakfast at 7:00 AM and will end at 3:30 PM in order to provide plenty of time to travel to Roanoke for the VAST General Session at 5:30 PM. Our meeting will include a VDOE Presentation and revisions to the VSELA Strategic Plan.
